Set up a Jamf connector

ConductorOne provides identity governance and just-in-time provisioning for Jamf Pro. Integrate your Jamf Pro instance with ConductorOne to run user access reviews (UARs) and enable just-in-time access requests.

General availability. The Jamf Pro connector is available to all ConductorOne users.

Capabilities

  • Sync user identities from Jamf Pro to ConductorOne

  • Resources supported:

    • Groups
    • Roles
    • Sites

Add a new Jamf Pro connector

This task requires either the Connector Administrator or Super Administrator role in ConductorOne.

  1. In ConductorOne, open Admin and click Connectors > Add connector.

  2. Search for Jamf and click Add.

  3. Choose whether to add the new Jamf connector as a data source to an existing application (and select the app of your choice) or to create a new application.

Do you SSO into Jamf using your identity provider (IdP)? If so, make sure to add the connector to the Jamf app that was created automatically when you integrated your IdP with ConductorOne, rather than creating a new app.

  1. Set the owner for this connector. You can manage the connector yourself, or choose someone else from the list of ConductorOne users. Setting multiple owners is allowed.

A Jamf connector owner must have the following permissions:

    • Connector Administrator or Super Administrator role in ConductorOne
    • Administrator role in Jamf Pro
  1. Click Next.

Next steps

  • If you are the connector owner, proceed to Configure your Jamf connector for instructions on integrating Jamf with ConductorOne.

  • If someone else is the connector owner, ConductorOne will notify them by email that their help is needed to complete the setup process.

Configure your Jamf Pro connector

A user with the Connector Administrator or Super Administrator role in ConductorOne and the Administrator role in Jamf Pro must perform this task.

(Optional) Step 1: Create a service account

The ConductorOne Jamf Pro connector requires a username and password. If desired, you can set up a service account to be used for the connector.

  1. Follow the instructions in the Jamf documentation for Creating a Jamf Pro User Account

  2. Give the user you create full access to the Jamf Pro instance and the Administrator privilege set.

Step 2: Add your Jamf credentials to ConductorOne

  1. In ConductorOne, navigate to the Jamf connector by either:

    • Clicking the Set up connector link in the email you received about configuring the connector.

    • Navigate to Admin > Connectors > Jamf (if there is more than one Jamf listed, click the one with your name listed as owner and the status Not connected).

  2. Find the Settings area of the page and click Edit.

  3. In the Instance URL field, enter the URL of your Jamf Pro instance.

  4. Enter the username of the service account you created in Step 1 (or the username of a Jamf Pro user with Administrator permissions) into the Username field.

  5. Enter the password associated with the username into the Password field.

  6. Click Save.

  7. The connector’s label changes to Syncing, followed by Connected. You can view the logs to ensure that information is syncing.

That’s it! Your Jamf Pro connector is now pulling access data into ConductorOne.

Configure the Jamf integration using Terraform

As an alternative to the integration process described above, you can use Terraform to configure the integration between Jamf Pro and ConductorOne.

See the ConductorOne Jamf integration resource page in the ConductorOne Terraform registry for example usage and the full list of required and optional parameters.
